Yes, David Cutcliffe deserves to be on here over any other coach who has led his team to an upset in the past two weeks. Cutcliffe still coaches an undermanned team at Duke that has taken years to develop into something decent, the Georgia Tech option offense always had the Blue Devils’ number. So it was only fitting that Duke would lose to an undefeated Georgia Tech team, especially after they lost to Miami a few weeks ago, right? Wrong.

Cutcliffe had other goals in mind. His team committed 0 turnovers while the Yellow Jackets committed 3. That’s great coaching. Cutcliffe focused heavily on the running game Saturday and limiting mistakes, and it paid off in Atlanta. The credit for the most perfect game plan all year has to go to the head coach, and it does. Cutcliffe coached the Blue Devils to a demons exercising, returning to form win. And the Blue Devils are back in the thick of the division race.
