This is the USC Trojans’ superstar gem on defense, and he stepped up the way a superstar should on Saturday. Leonard Williams was a flat-out stud, dominating and coming up with game-changing plays the entire night as the Trojans shocked the last undefeated team in the Pac-12.
Williams had 2 sacks and a forced fumble, and that forced fumble came against Terris Jones-Grigsby. This is a guy who dominated for the Wildcats and showed how physical and tough he is in the upset against Oregon last week, but one first-half hit by Williams forced him to lose the ball. Williams also made the play to stop the two-point conversion at the end of the game. Simply put, if Williams doesn’t play, USC doesn’t win. But he did play.
And Steve Sarkisian’s team is now back in the thick of the Pac-12 South race, which is as wide open as ever. That doesn’t happen without Williams disrupting the vaunted Arizona offensive line all night.\
