The Minnesota Golden Gophers are in the middle of a fantastic season.
Minnesota has started the season 5-1, including back-to-back Big 10 victories, a 30-14 victory over the Michigan Wolverines and a 24-17 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats. Northwestern tied the game at 17 in the fourth quarter, but a 100-yard kick return by Jalen Myrick gave Minnesota the win. Minnesota has carried the momentum over, earning a commitment from 3-Star defensive back Alonzo Craighton.
“I really just liked the atmosphere of Minnesota when I was down there and realized it was the place for me” Craighton said of his decision to be a Golden Gopher via Kyle Goblirsch of 24/7 Sports.
Craighton took a visit to the Minnesota Golden Gophers back on September 6 and told 24/7 Sports he had a “great time.”
The 6’2, 184-pounder is from Geismar, Louisiana and attends Dutchtown. He is the country’s 126th-ranked safety prospect, the 82nd-ranked overall prospect from the state of Louisiana and the 1,665th-ranked overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
He becomes the 15th commitment from Minnesota.
