Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 7

Oh, how close Arkansas is to being ranked so much higher in these power rankings! This is clearly a very good team after only losing by 1 point to Alabama. Having an 0-3 record in the SEC is unfair to point out when you consider that they have played Texas A&M, Auburn, and Alabama. This team is fighting its guts out to prove it is better than last year, and even if the record doesn’t show it yet, we can agree that this team is definitely much-improved.

The Razorbacks have the obviously deadly running game and Bret Bielema identity with Jonathan Williams and Alex Collins, and the defense isn’t bad. Because they have a strength and know where it is along with having tough games against great teams, the Razorbacks have actually proven much more about themselves than the LSU Tigers have. That’s enough for us to put them in the top half, above LSU, in our power rankings for now. But that could change soon.

Arkansas is about to be tested again against Georgia, a very winnable game for them. LSU and Missouri are still on the schedule, and UAB should be a sure win. Those games should be enough to get this team to 6 wins, even with Mississippi State and Ole Miss still on the schedule. But they could also fall to 4-8 or 5-7 despite being a very good SEC West team.

For right now, they are good enough to be in the top half of the SEC.
