Recruiting in the Pac-12 isn’t easy for the Oregon State Beavers.
Not only are the power programs like the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins, former powers like the Arizona Wildcats and Washington Huskies, a new national power in the Stanford Cardinal but also an up-and-comer like the Oregon Ducks, that just happens to be Oregon State’s chief rival.
The Beavers were still able to land an in-state prospect when 3-Star Blake Brandel gave his pledge to Mike Reilly’s squad.
Blake Brandel stands 6’7 and 245 lbs. so he obviously has to put on a lot of muscle before he makes any real impact on the next level. He attends Central Catholic High School in Portland and could wind up playing defensive end in college instead. He is ranked as the country’s 123rd-best offensive tackle prospect, the fourth-best overall prospect in the state of Oregon and the 1,121st-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
He becomes Oregon State’s 15th commitment in the class of 2015. Their class ranks 61st nationally and 12th in the Pac-12.
