The fifth-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be in Tallahassee to take on the second-ranked Florida State Seminoles on Saturday night.
They’ll enter that match up on a high note.
On Thursday, head coach Brian Kelly and the Irish got a commitment from 4-Star linebacker Asmar Bilal.
“It has everything that I wanted in a school,” Bilal said via Steve Wiltfong of 24/7 Sports. “Great academics along with tradition and great football.
“It was the right fit & it was time to end the process, I had all the info I needed.”
The 6’3, 205-pounder is from Indianapolis, Indiana and attends Ben Davis High School. Asmar Bilal is ranked as the country’s seventh-best inside linebacker prospect, the third-best overall prospect in the state of Indiana and the 179th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
He chose the Irish over offers from the Missouri Tigers, Oregon Ducks, Tennessee Volunteers and Texas A&M Aggies, among others.
