Over the weekend, the Iowa Hawkeyes won their third straight game, a 45-29 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers to improve to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in the Big 10 (Their lone loss came back September 13 when they were taken down to by the rival Iowa State Cyclones 20-17).
They continued their winning ways on the recruiting trail Wednesday when they received a pledge from 3-Stat athlete Michael Slater Jr. The 6’2, 240-pound Slater is from Chesterfield, Missouri and attends Parkway Central High School. He is ranked as the country’ 146th-best overall athlete, the 21st-best overall prospect in the state of Missouri and the 1,748th-best overall prospect in the class of 2015 according to 24/7 Sports composite rankings.
Sltater received an offer from Iowa back in June and named them his leaders in July so the commitment was expected.
Iowa now has 15 commitments, with their four highest-rated pledges all coming along the offensive line. Their class ranked 53rd nationally and 10th in the Big 10.
