It looked like Caleb Rowe was on the verge of beating out C.J. Brown. The two have been splitting reps over the last two games.
Unfortunately for Caleb Rowe, his battle for the job is over.
According to Josh Moyer of ESPN.com, Caleb Rowe has torn his ACL and will be out for the season.
"After making a case for playing time, Maryland backup quarterback Caleb Rowe will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee, the university announced Saturday.C.J. Brown, who split time with Rowe over the past two games, started against the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday.Rowe, who suffered the injury his left knee during Tuesday’s practice, played a large role in the last two games for the Terrapins, although he didn’t start either contest."
Caleb Rowe finishes the season completing 34-of-54 passes for 489 yards with five touchdowns and four interceptions. C.J. Brown has completed 84-of-146 passes for 1,067 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
The Terrapins 4-2 and are currently hosting the 5-1 Iowa Hawkeyes.
