Saturday Blitz ACC Power Rankings Week 8

David Cutcliffe’s Duke Blue Devils remain the best-coached team in the ACC, and now they are deservedly at No. 3 in the conference. This team has key wins against Virginia and Georgia Tech, proving the Miami loss was an aberration, so we’re not going to begrudge this team too harshly for that loss. It happens, and they are moving on.

Duke, being as well coached as they are, knows how to limit turnovers in games and play very efficient football. Anthony Boone has been great at quarterback, not by racking up stats, but by his efficiency with 9 touchdowns to only 3 interceptions and 196 rushing yards to go with it. Add to that the running of Wilson and Snead and the great receiving along with a Top 5 defense only giving up 15 points a game, and you have a complete team.

This complete team could potentially reach 11-1 before the ACC championship as well. Pitt and Syracuse are road games up next, but they should both be wins, a North Carolina and Wake Forest are also on the schedule to close out the year at home. Virginia Tech, along with Pitt, may be the toughest games. But at least the Hokies are at home.

So with the chance to go 11-1, how can we not put this team in our ACC Top 3?
