Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 8

This may come across as very unfair, but we honestly don’t care too much. Arizona in our Top 25 rankings still deserves to be the highest ranked Pac-12 team based strictly on body of work, but remember that our Power Rankings factor in how teams are playing. With the USC loss still fresh, the Wildcats not playing this week, and the other Pac-12 teams looking great, we decided to drop them to No. 4 for this week in our rankings.

But this could still all change quickly. Arizona has a loaded offense that has its chance to put up lots of points and impress everybody this weekend with a game against Washington State, but their inconsistent defense is also going to have to come through. If it does, we’ll be moving this team up after Saturday because it certainly has lots of talent, from Anu Solomon to Cayleb Jones to Nick Wilson and Terris Jones-Grigsby.

That talent has already been tested heavily, and now with Washington State, Colorado, and Washington on the schedule, this team could easily run the table. Those all should be wins, and UCLA, Utah, and Arizona State are all winnable as well. Rich Rodriguez’s team is a legitimate contender in the Pac-12 and national championship picture. So don’t sleep on them.

We certainly aren’t, but for right now, we have to keep them out of the Top 3.
