Saturday Blitz Pac 12 Power Rankings Week 8

Take notice college football world. As we keep talking about those Mississippi schools playing good football, don’t ignore those Arizona schools either. They are surprising everybody, and both are in the national title and Pac-12 title races. As we noted on Monday, the Sun Devils are technically the only Pac-12 team in control of their own destiny to make the College Football Playoff. And although we at first couldn’t ignore the blowout loss to UCLA, we have changed our tune and have to give them respect after beating USC and then Stanford.

Mike Bercovici settled in at quarterback pretty easily, and with Taylor Kelly coming back, this team could be in even better shape. The running game is still great, and Jaelen Strong is still a deadly weapon at receiver. So this offense is a complete offense, and the defense finally showed last Saturday it can play well. It was simply the victims of too many big plays against UCLA.

If they take out those big plays, the Sun Devils have a chance to win out. But it’ll be tough. Washington is a decent team, and they still have to play Utah and Notre Dame. The final game of the year is Arizona, and the Sun Devils have that one on the road. So essentially this team can’t relax all year despite being very good.

But right now, it looks good enough to beat any of them.
