It’s clear that the SEC remains the best conference in college football. And after last weekend’s games, we didn’t need Mississippi State or Auburn to play to see other good teams. Unfortunately, all the games were blowouts, which were mostly statements as to how good some of the teams are. But there were also a few indictments.

Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Kentucky all have some explaining to do. Arkansas has to do a little bit of that too. But let’s give credit to LSU, Ole Miss, Alabama, Missouri, and Georgia. We need to acknowledge these talented SEC teams that could probably beat anybody in the country.

So where does that leave our power rankings after dominating performances from some of the top teams? Was Ole Miss’s dominant win over Tennessee enough to vault them over Mississippi State since the Bulldogs didn’t play this past week? What about Alabama? Where do they rise after blowing out Texas A&M?

As we get set to bring you our SEC Power Rankings for Week 8, know that we are not basing these the same way as we did our playoff projections or our Top 25. That’s obviously the case with every conference, but it has to be said with this conference when there are so many powerhouse team.
