Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 8

It’s unfair to drop Georgia because there is more reason to believe in them this week than there was last week. For the second straight game, the Dawgs were picked to be upset by many analysts, and for the second straight game, they pulled it out. There is something going on with this year’s team that should be undefeated. Could it be a team of destiny?

Losing Aaron Murray from last year at quarterback and then Todd Gurley at running back midway through the season appears to have maybe brought this team closer and made them more determined. Nick Chubb stepped up for the second straight week as Gurley’s replacement and dominated. Hutson Mason is playing very efficient. And the defense is coming through. Georgia is on a roll but could be holding its nose.

Coming up on the schedule, there is still Florida, Kentucky, and Georgia Tech, and there’s of course that No. 15 showdown against Auburn. So nothing is over for this team just yet. But at 6-1, they appear to be jelling together, and that’s a great sign going into the rest of the season.

This still looks like a Top 5 SEC team and the clear best in the East.
