SEC Power Rankings Week 8: Missouri, LSU, Alabama Rise
Saturday Blitz SEC Power Rankings Week 8
Here’s an idea, Florida: fire Will Muschamp now. How are you still evaluating him? This guy’s team has had one good season with him at the helm, but otherwise they have been somewhere between mediocre and awful. And this year, they are back in that category again. After a blowout loss to Missouri, they only teased us by beating Tennessee (who is awful) and playing LSU close.
The offense is awful, and Muschamp’s insistence on sticking with Jeff Driskel for so long was simply baffling. It was nearly time to speculate if Driskel had some type of blackmail on Muschamp. The Gators have no way of scoring points consistently, and it’s hampering their defense. Led by a defensive-minded coach, they lost to Missouri 42-13. Not a good look.
And now at 3-3 with Georgia and Florida State still on the schedule, making it to a bowl game for this team could be extremely hard. They’ll likely beat Vanderbilt and Eastern Kentucky, which means, since their opener is likely not being played, that they need to beat South Carolina to reach 6 wins. That’s terrible for a coach in his fourth year on the job, and this team is going nowhere.
For that, we have them at No. 10 in our power rankings.
