2. Florida State Seminoles

The champs are back. Im going to be blunt. The Seminoles are not the same Seminoles that they were last year, but they are not a shell of their former selves. The Noles still have a ridiculously talented team but talent isn’t the only essential to winning a National Championship, they lack leadership. The loss of integral players such as Bryan Stork, Kelvin Benjamin, the linebacking corps, and most importantly Lamarcus Joyner are evident. Considering their schedule, FSU should have no problem going undefeated with little veteran presence. Plus, they have this guy Jameis Winston who’s really good at Quarterback. Although he’s one of the best in the nation, Jameis has shown some regression this year due to inexperienced receivers. While he still has studs Rashad Greene and Nick O’Leary, he’s shown issues developing chemistry with the new starters. Not having 6’5 Kelvin Benjamin has posed as an issue. Either way, Jameis still has all the makings of a top three college QB and will lead the Noles to the CFB Playoff this year.

The Remaining Schedule

  • At Louisville
    • This has letdown game written all over it. Louisville is  a quiet 5-2 right now, but they are leading the nation in total defense this season. Yes, they are currently ahead of Stanford and Alabama in that stat category. With a tremendous defense and elite WR Devante Parker potentially returning for this game, the Cardinals are no cupcake win.
  • Virginia
    • Although being 5-2, the Cavaliers are too mediocre to win this game, especially in Tallahassee.
  • At Miami
    • Just like Louisville, this is another potential letdown game. Miami is great against the pass, in fact number 12 in the nation in that statistic. Their Freshman QB Brad Kaaya is a promising prospect who has been progressing very well as of late. Florida State should win this game, but don’t be surprised if Miami puts up a fight.
  • Boston College
    • Although BC has a top 10 defense at this point, not having a pure passer at the helm will make game-planning a lot easier for the Noles.
  • Florida
    • Jeff Driskel is bad. This team screams mediocrity. FSU wins big.
