Saturday Blitz Vegas Prediction:

Kentucky Wildcats

Call us crazy for going with this upset, especially given the fact that the Wildcats are a completely different team away from home. Patrick Towles is good enough to make significant plays against the Missouri defense, and he’ll put up plenty of points that would be enough for a Wildcats victory.

But that’s not going to be where the victory comes. It will come on defense.

Kentucky’s defense has looked bad at times and great at times. Against a Missouri Tigers team with a pathetic quarterback in Maty Mauk and a pathetic offense overall, they will force the Tigers into making far too many mistakes. Missouri will never be able to move the ball and will have multiple turnovers.

Of course, if the Tigers have a good showing on special teams and manage to protect the ball, forget this pick. But we think they’re due for another pathetic performance, and it’s going to be here.

Kentucky can also run it down the throat of a Missouri defensive line that can only rush the passer. Being able to do that will give them a close win on the road.
