Saturday Blitz Vegas Prediction:

Oregon State Beavers

After such a great start to the season and having already proven that they are a far better team than what was fielded last year, the Cal Golden Bears’ lack of defense is starting to catch up with them with three straight losses. It’s going to be four after Saturday.

Oregon State’s offense, led by Sean Mannion, will be able to torch the Golden bears and pad stats for them, while the defense does enough to keep Cal from winning the game. Obviously, with a bit of a suspect defense on Oregon State’s end, this is going to be another Pac-12 shootout game, and we are certainly not picking the Beavers to win in a blowout.

But playing in front of their home crowd with that passing attack and enough on defense to slow down Cal’s Jared Goff-led passing attack, we can’t honestly say that the Beavers are going to lose this game.

Oregon State is on a two-game slide and has struggled against more balanced offense, but against pass-heavy offenses they are just good enough to pull out a victory.

That’s what will happen Saturday.

Oregon State: 45 California: 38
