No. 24 Duke Blue Devils at Pittsburgh Panthers

David Cutcliffe’s Duke Blue Devils are now on a roll and going up against a much younger team in Pittsburgh this weekend with lots of talent and inexperience.

A lot of who wins this game depends on which Pitt Panthers team decides to show up this Saturday. If the talented, playing together Panthers show up, they could pull off the victory. But the team that lost to Iowa and Akron could just as easily show up as well. Pitt has seen decent quarterback play from the young Chad Voytik, but against a team that thrives off of forcing mistakes, the biggest thing Pittsburgh needs to do is run the ball a lot with James Connor, who already has 1,000 yards on the season. If they can get that running game going, the defensive line has enough talent to step up for this team to pull off the victory.

  • Duke, meanwhile, is the most well-coached team in all of college football, as they have been for the past few years. They should take it as a major sign of disrespect that they are a 3-point underdog in this game. The Blue Devils defense has been stiff all year, but this is likely the best offense it has faced. It’s time for the defense to really show how good it is. On offense, Duke needs Shaun Wilson and Josh Snead to come through in the running game, and Anthony Boone needs to be efficient, as he has been all year. If they just play their game they should get the win.

Duke right now has too much experience to blow this game, so we are going with them on the road.
