Oct 30, 2014; Louisville, KY, USA; Florida State Seminoles running back Dalvin Cook (4) runs and scores a touchdown during the fourth quarter against the Louisville Cardinals at Papa John

Dalvin Cook, Running Back, Florida State Seminoles- 9 Carries for 110 Yards and 2 Touchdowns, 4 Receptions for 40 Yards (Defeated Louisville Cardinals 42-31)

Jameis Winston has been coming through in the biggest moments every week, but he’s always had a good bit of help. Often times, it was Karlos Williams and Rashad Greene coming through for him. This time, though, it was the freshman in Dalvin Cook stepping up to come through.

With things working against the Seminoles and Winston struggling to move the ball downfield, Cook became his safe target in the second half. He began to get wide open in the flats and constantly made plays with the ball. If he wasn’t catching it, he was running it for huge gains. On one drive, Cook had 74 of the team’s 80 yards. He had touchdown runs of 40 yards and 38 yards, the second run of which gave the Seminoles the lead for good.

With things working against them, Florida State needed another weapon, and Cook came through. He ran over, around, and through the Cardinals defense almost exclusively in the second half. And even when Louisville began to account for him, he was able to reverse field on some plays and pick up long gains.

Cook deserves lots of credit for that win Sunday, and we are going to award the freshman his first Blitz Points recognition.
