Praise Martin-Oguike, Defensive End, Temple Owls- 4 Tackles, 3.5 Tackles for a Loss, 1.5 Sacks, 2 Forced Fumbles, 1 Field Goal Blocked (Defeated East Carolina Pirates 20-10)

This might be the best story of the weekend. Martin-Oguike had to spend last year at a community college in New Jersey because he was falsely accused of rape. After facing public humiliation and embarrassment, being dismissed from the program, and falling off the map for something he didn’t do, he burst back onto the scene Saturday.

Martin-Oguike was the most valuable player for the Owls on Saturday as they upset the East Carolina Pirates. Temple surrendered more than 400 yards on defense and only gained 135 yards on offense. But they forced 5 fumbles. Guess who forced 2 of those fumbles: Martin-Oguike. Is that not enough?

He also blocked a field goal. And he had 3.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. Simply put, Martin-Oguike made several critical plays to win the game. With only a 10-point victory, without the 2 forced fumbles and blocked field goal, we could be having a different story right now.

But now we’re talking about a huge upset solely because of Martin-Oguike. For that, he is a Blitz Points winner this week.
