Andrew Adams, Safety, Connecticut Huskies- 3 Interceptions Returned for 72 Yards (Defeated UCF Knights 37-29)

This may seem like an obscure one, but for those of you who follow American Athletic Conference football, UCON just scored their first conference win of the year in a huge upset over UCF. The Huskies also put up a remarkable 37 points in the process.

The reason? Andrew Adams. The safety came up with an incredible 3 interceptions and had 72 return yards at the same time. Connecticut’s offense wasn’t great on the day, with only 327 yards of total offense. But they forced 4 turnovers, all of which were interceptions thrown by Justin Holman.

Adams came up with three of them. Deshon Foxx could be on here as well as he rushed for 102 yards and got the Huskies going, but it was Adams who made the crucial plays to win the game. His first interception came just after UCONN had tied it up at 7-7 in the second and UCF was driving. His second came with the score tied 14-14 and UCF driving again. That set up the go-ahead field goal for UCONN to take a 17-14 lead into halftime.

His third and final interception came in the fourth quarter. UCONN had a 37-21 lead at that point, but it might have been the play to protect it just enough as they won it 37-29. For that, he is a Blitz Points winner this week.
