8. Everett Golson, Senior Quarterback, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Last Game: 18-for-25 (72%), 315 Yards; 9 Carries for 33 Yards; 6 Total TD’s (Defeated Navy Midshipmen 49-39)

2014 Season: 184-of-193 (62.8%), 2,311 Passing Yards; 78 Carries for 272 Yards; 29 Total TD’s, 7 INT’s

In very similar fashion to Jameis Winston, Everett Golson doesn’t have the best numbers compared to other players on this list but is simply willing his team to victory each week. A 6-touchdown performance against Navy is enough for him to have a well-deserved spot on this list. Golson continues to shine in the biggest moments. The fourth down play against Stanford also showed his clutch gene, which is something that can’t be ignored.

And in similar fashion to Winston, we are throwing the fake “integrity” and “character” cards college football fans use against players they don’t like out the window. Sure, Golson faced an issue with academic dishonesty. But last I checked, he didn’t hurt anybody, so there’s no character issue egregious enough for us to leave him off this watch.

The only reason he isn’t higher on this list is due to the interceptions and suspect schedule. But if he keeps playing like this, he’ll be able to move up very soon.
