Miami Hurricanes 6-3 (3-2)

Last week: Defeated North Carolina Tar Heels 47-20
Last rank: 6

Don’t look now, but Al Golden’s Miami Hurricanes have won three straight games, two straight in the ACC, and they’ve all been blowouts. Not that there are any Miami Hurricanes fans left to care. We just wanted to make the point in these ACC Power Rankings.

Brad Kaaya is a completely different quarterback than he was at the beginning of the year, growing up as a freshman, and Duke Johnson is becoming a superstar running back. Both of those factors have shown the past three weeks, but what’s really stood out is defense. First, the Hurricanes held Virginia Tech to 6 points. Then they held the high-powered UNC offense to 20 points. That’s pretty darn impressive, and this team is looking as good and dominant as any other powerhouse team in the country right now.

So keep an eye on these guys. They now have a bye, and then comes the epic Nov. 15 showdown against Florida State. Don’t think for a second that Miami can’t pull off that upset.
