The Clemson Tigers might be the hottest team in football since the start of October, winning games despite changing their starting quarterbacks a lot. After starting the year with a bad loss to Georgia and then suffering a heartbreaking loss to Florida State, Dabo Swinney’s Tigers have now fought themselves back into the Top 25 at No. 21 with a 6-2 record.
Now, in an ACC showdown with the worst team in the conference on Thursday night, Deshaun Watson is back in the lineup. For the Tigers to make sure they don’t face any upset, he has to play well and shake off the rust. Cole Stoudt has done a decent job, but the offense has shown that it can struggle severely if Watson isn’t playing well. And although Wake Forest has an absolutely pathetic offense, their defense is still not too bad, so without Clemson scoring this game could get interesting.

It’s going to take a huge miracle for Wake Forest to pull out this game despite all the minor advantages they might have. In the end we just don’t see any way they can do it. This team is getting better and will be much better in the future, but it’s still a terrible team right now. Clemson wins easily.
