Saturday Blitz Vegas Big Ten Prediction: Michigan State Wins 31-24

This game will be a close game, but we’re here to tell you that despite that, Ohio State has no chance. The Buckeyes run that cute spread offense that Urban Meyer ran at Florida and won two national championships with, but there’s a glaring difference with this team. The Buckeyes don’t have a defense to rely on.

Sure, Oho State has been surprisingly good on defense, but we can’t count on that unit against Michigan State. Connor Cook is too efficient of a quarterback, and he will torch the Buckeyes from start to finish. The Michigan State offensive line and running game will do the same thing, so we’re not betting on the Buckeyes.

Ohio State’s best chance is to score a lot on offense with J.T. Barrett, but after such a bad start, Michigan State’s defense, particularly the linebackers, have developed enough to be able to hold a spread offense like Meyer’s in check. With that in mind, we are betting on the Spartans to pull out the win at home coming off of a bye week and secure the top spot in the Big Ten East.

And honestly, we’d be incredibly shocked if anything different happened in this game. By our estimations, Ohio State has no chance.
