Nov 1, 2014; Eugene, OR, USA; Oregon Ducks wide receiver Devon Allen (5) celebrates with Oregon Ducks running back Thomas Tyner (24) following Tyner

6. No. 4 Oregon Ducks (8-1) at No. 17 Utah Utes (6-2)

The Utah Utes are still in the race for the Pac-12 championship and have an incredibly long outside shot at the College Football Playoff if they keep winning. Although it is a very unlikely possibility, a win against Oregon would bump up the respect level for this team dramatically. If that happens, all of a sudden the Pac-12 is wide open.

And it could knock the playoff race wide open.

This game has implications for the Pac-12 and the Top 25. It would have an impact on the old BCS system. We are mainly putting this here because it is indeed a tough game for Oregon that the Ducks can’t take lightly. In fact, we have our own thoughts on this game you can see in our Vegas Pac 12 Predictions here.

On the other hand, Oregon’s win would keep them in one of the Top 4 spots, but if they lose, it opens up the door for the Big 12, Big Ten, and another SEC team. Essentially with this game, an Oregon win keeps the College Football Playoff race stable and doesn’t really change anything. But a loss could create chaos, which is what we all love anyway, right?
