Obviously, the playoff implications for this game appear to be one-sided as well, tilted towards Baylor. But they aren’t. Again, with the way the chips are falling, Oklahoma could easily thrust itself back into the College Football Playoff race with an upset win on Saturday. That would put them back in the Big 12 championship race and the College Football Playoff race.

So take this game with the seriousness that it deserves.

As we mentioned in our Vegas Big 12 Predictions, Baylor is still in control of its own destiny. The Bears would easily vault up the rankings with a win on Saturday, and knowing that right now the Big 12 is the odd-conference out with two SEC teams, Florida State, and Oregon in the Selection Committee’s Top 4, the elite teams in the conference have to keep winning.

That makes this game crucial when talking about the College Football Playoff. Both teams have a stake in this, although Baylor has a bigger one. If they lose, they are likely out of the race for good. But like Utah-Oregon, it could knock the playoff race wide open.

If they win, they at least eliminate the Sooners for sure.
