It was definitely a quarterbacks clinic on Separation Saturday. And did Separation Saturday ever live up to its billing!

Not only did we separate by wins and losses. In many cases we separated teams based on how bad they lost in plenty of cases. And then there were some upsets to knock a few other teams out. All in all, it was a crazy Saturday, and we have been able to significantly reduce the number of teams who are in College Football Playoff contention.

A lot of that is owed to the quarterbacks who showed up this past weekend, as many of them led huge blowout victories in high-scoring affairs. The big plays from many of them shook up the Heisman race on Saturday, but it wasn’t just the quarterbacks.

Defenders came through for some teams in a few very close wins and some major upsets. So defenders and quarterbacks were the face of our college football top performers.

As we mention every week, our criteria for the college football top performers include players on winning teams, but they could have either put up huge numbers or simply made crucial plays to win close games.

And they all had to be meaningful games to a degree. With all of that in mind, it wasn’t too hard to sort out the top players for this week. We have 10 of them.

And with thanks to them for helping to shake up the playoff picture, here they are from Week 11.
