Another team has crashed the party of the good Big 12 teams. This deep conference is now up to seven impressive teams, as this past weekend showed.

The Texas Longhorns finally had a major breakthrough with their huge win over the West Virginia Mountaineers. We had already known that last weekend’s Big 12 slate left us with the most to be excited about, and that only added to it.

It has thrown a wrench in this week’s Big 12 Power Rankings, which we are about to bring to you. The power rankings now are taking into account two clearly bad teams, one unfortunate team, four middle of the pack teams that are all very good, and still three elite teams, despite what happened in a game between two of them over the weekend.

  • But the change in the Big 12 Power Rankings didn’t just happen in which category the teams belong in this week. They also forced us to rearrange the teams in the categories, particularly in the elite category and the bad category. And the rest of the Big 12 season will surely force us to rearrange it again.

This is a much deeper conference than anybody could have imagined, and with the improvement of Texas it’s only better. In fact, we are ready to bump this conference firmly above the Pac-12.

And with that major honor, here are our Big 12 Power Rankings following Week 11 of the college football season.
