Oklahoma State Cowboys 5-4 (3-3)

Last week: Idle
Last rank: 6

The Oklahoma State Cowboys didn’t play this past week, but we had to knock them down a spot because of the great play of another Big 12 team. And these guys are still in the midst of a bad three-game losing streak, proving they’re in that middle of tha pack Big 12 crew that’s not quite very good, great, or elite, at least for this year.

Gundy has had issues all year, starting with Daxx Garman replacing J.W. Walsh at quarterback after Walsh, who was a new starter himself, got injured.  Add the defensive struggles to that along with a brutal Big 12 schedule, and you get a pretty rough season. That’s what we have here. Still, making it to 5-4 is remarkable, and these guys haven’t avoided anybody, including playing Florida State at the beginning of the year. So their record is legit.

But a bowl game is going to be hard because of that. Texas, Baylor, and Oklahoma are on the slate to close out the season. Oklahoma is still a good team, Baylor speaks for itself, and Texas is finding its rhythm, so all three teams are dangerous. And winning any of them will be hard.
