Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Prediction: LSU Wins 27-17

It’s kind of crazy that Las Vegas has made this an even line. So LSU takes Alabama to overtime, and the next week Alabama is a 10-point favorite against the No. 1 team in the country while LSU is on an even line against a team with a losing record? Somebody tell me how in the heck that makes sense.

It doesn’t.

And anybody who has followed LSU over the past few weeks should know that the Tigers have played much better. They are now back on the level of the powerhouse SEC West teams, but youth cost them two early blowout losses. It also cost them last week’s loss to Alabama.

It won’t cost them on the road against Arkansas.

The Tigers are going to have no problem cruising to a pretty solid victory on the road against a very good Arkansas team this weekend. Sure, Arkansas can run the ball, but LSU has a pretty good rush defense, and their dominant secondary will shut down the Arkansas passing game, which needs to show up somewhat for balance. That won’t happen. And there will be no balance.

Leonard Fournette will then run over, around, and through the Arkansas defense to lead the Tigers to the victory and keep them in the Top 25 while almost certainly eliminating the Razorbacks from any bowl game talk.
