J.T. Barrett, Quarterback, Ohio State Buckeyes (Defeated Minnesota Golden Gophers 31-24)

15-of-25 for 200 Yards, 3 Touchdowns; 17 Carries for 189 Yards, 1 Touchdown

J.T. Barrett continues to develop into a superstar as a freshman, putting Urban Meyer in what he considers a great situation next year in choosing between two quarterbacks. But sticking with Barrett, we can now add this rookie to the list of superstar college quarterbacks Meyer has coached.

Coming off a huge win against Michigan State on the road, there were some legitimate concerns about what Barrett was going to do on Saturday against another team that made the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s Top 25. How could these Buckeyes handle success and being thrust back into the national spotlight?

Well, they did it by winning that game against Minnesota easily. In bad weather, Barrett only had 200 yards passing and an interception. But when you factor in that he threw for 3 touchdowns, carried the ball for 189 yards and ran for another touchdown, and set Ohio State up for a 31-14 lead, then you have to give him credit.

Barrett is slowly climbing up the Heisman race with his play each week. And Minnesota was another huge step for the freshman quarterback.
