College Football Top 25 Rankings: Florida State Tops Both Polls

We have played 12 weeks of college football, and after mixing and shuffling teams every Sunday, we’re back to our original AP Top Three.

With only two weeks left to play in the season, Florida State is back at No. 1 in the AP Poll and the USA Today Poll, Alabama is No. 2, and Oregon is No. 3. That’s the exact ranking that the AP Poll had at the beginning of the year.

If the polls are any indication of what the College Football Playoff Selection Committee will do, however, Mississippi State has nothing to worry about. They came in at No. 4 in both of them.

In fact, the Top 8 were exactly the same and No. 9 and No. 10 were just flipped in each poll.

The SEC  has two teams in the Top 5, four in the Top 10, and six overall in the Top 25. But the Pac-12, with two fewer teams, also has six teams in the Top 25 thanks to an entrance by USC that may not have been deserved.

The Big 12 has four teams, which is also impressive given that there are only 10 in the conference, and the Big Ten and ACC have four teams and teams respectively, and Marshall and Colorado remain the only undefeated Non-Power Five teams in the rankings. Here is what they each look like.

What did you think of the poll? Who was too high? Who was too low? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
