8. Brett Hundley, Quarterback, UCLA Bruins (8-2, 5-2 in Pac-12)

Last Game: 29-of-36 (80.6%) for 302 Yards, 7 Carries for 18 Yards (2.6 YPC), 4 Total Touchdowns (Defeated Washington Huskies 44-30 Two Weeks Ago)

Season: 220-of-305 (72.1%) for 2,547 Yards, 135 Carries for 564 Yards (4.2 YPC), 24 Total Touchdowns, 4 Interceptions

Brett Hundley may not have played last week, but we have decided to put him back in our Heisman race. All of a sudden, after Arizona State’s loss to Oregon State, UCLA is back in the Pac-12 championship race, the College Football Playoff race, and has a player in the Heisman race.

Hundley deserves lots of credit for keeping the Bruins focused despite two incredibly disappointing losses in the middle of the season. Now, they have a lot to play for once again, and his numbers combined with the team’s position are enough to keep him in the race.

It’s low right now because he doesn’t have the touchdown numbers other quarterbacks have, but with a 72.6 percent completion percentage and a 6-to-1 touchdown to interception ratio, he might be the most efficient quarterback in the race behind Marcua Mariota.

And he might just get another shot at Mariota after all if he keeps doing his job, so don’t count him out of anything just yet.
