Seasons at Current School: Two

Record at Current School: 13-10

Overall Record: 26-21

Age: 55

Steve Addazio has done a tremendous job in two years at Boston College and was great at Temple before that. Addazio has coaching ties to Florida, serving as the offensive line and tight ends coach from 2005 to 2008 and as the offensive coordinator in 2009 and 2010.

But take a look at what he’s done since leaving.

Addazio had a 9-4 season in 2011 at Temple, and despite going 4-7 the next year when he lost a ton of talent, he was hired away at Boston College. The Eagles were 2-10 and 4-8 the two years before he got there. Then his first year there in 2013, they went 7-6. And after losing a ton of talent again, they have gone 6-4 this year.

This is clearly a great coach, but he should be the last choice of realistic options. First off, he’s not proven enough yet. Also, it can’t be ignored that Florida had lots of issues on offense in 2010 after Tim Tebow left when he was still there.

And Addazio’s style wouldn’t really fit full-time. He likes to play power football, which is fine, but it’s a waste when there’s so much speed to recruit in the Sunshine State. He’s an option, but he shouldn’t be that high.
