Saturday Blitz Vegas Pac 12 Prediction: Stanford Wins 20-14

We have been consistently wrong on the Cardinal all year, but there is no way we are wrong on picking them going into this weekend. Cal is the epitome of teams that run into trouble against David Shaw’s Stanford Cardinal, and even in a bad year that should still be the case.

Kevin Hogan should be efficient enough at quarterback to move the ball and stay on the field consistently against that terrible Cal defense. They will have no trouble taking the Golden Bears out of their element, which involves throwing the ball all over the field.

Speaking of that, Jared Goff will never get in a rhythm for Cal, and it will keep them from being able to consistently do anything on offense. In a typical Stanford victory, they will control the clock, play tough defense, and never have trouble keeping their drives alive on offense.

This is a huge game between two 5-5 teams who are both desperately fighting to get bowl eligible. Yes, Stanford has been a disappointment this year, but they have lost a lot of close games to very good teams. They won’t let their chances at a bowl game slip away Saturday.
