Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Prediction: Missouri Wins 21-10

We really wanted to pick Tennessee in this game. With Joshua Dobbs at quarterback, they are becoming the trendy team among fans and in Vegas, seeing as how they’re favored by 3 points to win this game at home.

And that’s where we need to slow our roll a little bit.

The hype behind Dobbs  is based on one full game against Kentucky, a half against Alabama, and the last 5 minutes against South Carolina. That’s not much to go on, and this young team is likely feeling themselves right now with no experience at dealing with success. Missouri, meanwhile, is consistently being disrespected.

That combination is going to make for a Missouri victory. The comfortable margin is the match-up problem.

Dobbs was inserted because Tennessee has a young offense line and needed mobility at quarterback. Sorry, but Missouri has a deadly pass rush with Shane Ray that will destroy that offensive line. It’s going to give Dobbs and Co. hell all night, and the offense won’t be able to do what it usually does. With a reality check and the match-up problems, this group will be in for a much-needed wake-up call.

The defense won’t have too much trouble stopping Maty Mauk and the underachieving Missouri offense, but it won’t matter. Missouri will have enough for a victory and to stay on top of the SEC East.
