Jerry Kill’s Minnesota Golden Gophers did a heck of a job coming back against the Nebraska Cornhuskers Saturday afternoon. And the reason behind that was the quarterback.

It’s odd to say because Minnesota has no passing game, but Mitch Leidner led the team in passing and in rushing. Down 21-7, he was able to rally the team to lead a great comeback. And he did a heck of a job in the process.

To rush for more than 100 yards and pass for more than 100 yards on the road against a ranked team with the Big Ten West on the line was a remarkable performance. To do it when your team is down 21-7 is more impressive.

Leidner has the Golden Gophers in great position to win the Big Ten west and compete for the Big Ten Championship. We all know how great of a coach Jerry Kill is. But the play of Leidner is the reason for us giving him credit this week.

For that, he is a Blitz Points winner.
