Saturday Blitz Vegas SEC Prediction: Alabama Wins 28-20

Alabama is not going to let another SEC Championship and shot at the College Football Playoff slip away with a fluke loss to Auburn. By rankings, this probably should be the game of the week over the Egg Bowl.

But this year’s Iron Bowl simply won’t be as exciting of a game.

Auburn will stay competitive, but Nick Saban has shown historically that he doesn’t get torched by a mobile quarterback two years in a row. He’s going to make sure he is thoroughly prepared for this offense, and the players won’t make nearly the amount of mistakes they made against the Tigers last year.

Auburn and Gus Malzahn deserve enough of our respect to predict them to stay in this game, despite the fact that they got blown out by Georgia two weeks ago. But there’s no way they beat Alabama on the road.

In addition to limiting the mistakes, Blake Sims will do a much better job consistently guiding the offense as a leader than AJ McCarron did last year, and Lane Kiffin will do a great job as offensive coordinator.

Alabama wins to move to 11-1 and go on to the SEC Championship game, continuing its road to the College Football Playoff.
