12. Arizona Wildcats, 10-2 (7-2)

Last Game: Defeated Arizona State Sun Devils 42-35

Next Game: Oregon Ducks in Pac-12 Championship

The Arizona Wildcats at 10-2 got the best break of anybody over the weekend with UCLA losing at home to Stanford. Now, they are going to the Pac-12 Championship after beating Arizona State with a chance to beat Oregon, again.

The quality win against Oregon is a huge deal, as well as the fact that USC and UCLA are clearly not bad losses. Arizona State is a great win also. However, overall the Wildcats have a strength of schedule outside of the Top 70, so there’s no way we could put them in the Top 10 with that fact. They have a lot more work to do to prove to us they belong in the Top 10, and it will take a lot of luck for them to move all the way up into the College Football Playoff race.

However, this weekend’s a pretty darn good start. You don’t get much better than Oregon when trying to up your strength of schedule, and if they win on Saturday, that’s two quality wins against Oregon and another against Arizona State. So be patient. This team could easily move into the Top 10 and possible Top 5 very soon.
