Last Game: Defeated Texas Tech Red Raiders 48-46

Next Game: Kansas State Wildcats at Home

Sometimes in sports, no matter what method you use, people get something they don’t deserve. The winner of the NFC South doesn’t deserve to be in the NFL Playoffs this year. And Baylor doesn’t deserve to be No. 4 in our polls based on strength of schedule. But our method puts them there.

At the end of the day, the Bears get the head to head advantage over the team that would jump them and Oregon based on record and schedule strength. Therefore, the Bears automatically deserve to jump TCU, who is already ahead of the Ducks. Call it unfair, scream, and cry all you want, this is the way the system should work. It shouldn’t be about eye test. It should be about a method of consistency, and that’s what we try to apply here.

And honestly, the strength of schedule for the Bears will improve dramatically this weekend anyway. A win against Kansas State would be a third quality win for these guys, and West Virginia on the road is not a bad loss. So they still could improve their resume.
