23. Arizona State Sun Devils, 9-3 (6-3)

Last Game: Lost to Arizona Wildcats 42-35

Next Game: Bowl Game

We don’t need to spend too much time harping on the fact that the Sun Devils flat out blew a chance at the Pac-12 South Championship. But it must be mentioned because they were given a gift with UCLA’s loss, and Todd Graham’s team certainly had the talent to beat Arizona. But they couldn’t do it.

And at 9-3, this team could have been ranked higher. But they have a strength of schedule outside of the Top 80 right now and a bad loss to Oregon State along with barely one win against a current Top 25 team, so it’s hard to put them that much higher on the list when ranking based on record and strength of schedule. It may be unfair, but outside of Louisville, the Sun Devils don’t deserve to be ranked above any Power Five 9-3 team or better right now. They had a chance to make their case with a win Saturday and couldn’t come through. Now, they’re down the list to here.
