Last Game: Defeated Iowa Hawkeyes 37-34 in Overtime

Next Game: Bowl Game

The resume of the Nebraska Cornhuskers is actually very impressive with no real bad losses. Minnesota, Michigan State, and Wisconsin are all Top 25 teams, and going 9-3 with their schedule certainly warrants a Top 25 ranking. Going 9-3 as a Power Five team for the most part warrants that.

But of course, in Nebraska’s case, the story this week is not about the 9-3 record or being in the Top 25. It’s about the firing of Bo Pelini, who clearly didn’t get nearly the credit he deserved for consistently fielding 9 and 10-win teams. It’s actually ridiculous he was fired. This year, his team once again belonged in the Top 25. Literally, there was nobody that beat them that should not have beaten them, and it’s not like Miami and Iowa are bad wins. This team was good enough for its coach to remain around for another year.
