Last Game: Defeated Kansas Jayhawks 44-7

Next Game: Oklahoma State Cowboys at Home

These Oklahoma Sooners could be remembered as the team without any embarrassing losses but at the same time no impressive victories. They literally did everything you would expect a decent team to do, running the table but losing to everybody good.

TCU, Kansas State, and Baylor are clearly not teams to be embarrassed about losing to. And at the same time, the Texas Longhorns, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Tennessee Volunteers are all decent wins. So what’s the problem? The problem is that this team was thinking about a national championship this year. Still, with a decent strength of schedule and no bad losses on the resume, the Sooners clearly belong in the Top 25 as an 8-3 Power Five team.

But the Oklahoma State Cowboys provide no real chance to move up, unfortunately. If the Sooners win, the Cowboys fall to 5-7, so it’s not like they beat anybody noteworthy. And a loss probably knocks them out of the rankings.
