20. Boise State Broncos, 10-2 (7-1)

Last Game: Defeated Utah State Aggies 50-19

Next Game: Fresno State Bulldogs in Mountain West Conference Championship

That’s right. We’re not just putting Boise State in the Top 25 as our top Group of Five team. The Broncos have more than enough of a resume to be ahead of quite a few other Power Five teams with an underrated schedule strength.

That schedule strength is a Top 60 schedule strength, and it includes a very impressive win against Colorado State. By the way, one of their two losses came to Ole Miss. Again, that’s nothing to be ashamed of. In fact, had they not lost that fluke game to Air Force, the Broncos could easily be positioning themselves in the Top 10 right now. Who would have thought that at the beginning of the year when so many of us thought that the program was going to take a downward slide without Chris Petersen running the show?

Now, with Fresno State up next, the Broncos will have another chance to add to their resume, and that would actually improve their schedule strength. So this team could move up even more when it’s all said and done.
