Oregon State seems stuck in that ever-dreaded level of mediocrity, where on some occasions they can reach 8 wins and other seasons they only get 4 or 5. And we’re not sure if they are close at all to turning a corner.

So after stunning the Arizona State Sun Devils and putting their bowl hopes back on the line when they were in danger following a bad loss to Washington State, Oregon State then woke up to reality and got blown out by Washington and Oregon.

And as a result they didn’t make a bowl game anyway, despite all of the momentum behind that upset.

Throughout the year, the Beavers got behind quarterback Sean Mannion to lead them to victory, as they followed a similar model to Washington State, Cal, and Colorado. But like the rest of those teams, they had no running game andx hardly played any defense, so this 5-7 season is the result.
