And now we are down to one.

All the talk about the powerhouse teams in the SEC throughout the year, and rightfully so, has brought us to this point, with only one team having a legitimate shot at competing for a national championship from the conference. And unfortunately, we all know exactly who that team is.

Is anybody surprised that it’s Alabama? Well, after all the talk of the Mississippi States, Ole Misses, and Georgias of the world, maybe.

But as we have now closed out the SEC regular season and get set to bring you another batch of SEC Power Rankings, know that there is only one team right now because it was the only team capable of surviving the bloodbath that comes with the SEC West. This was the toughest and deepest division in possibly college football history.

And now, it can be a little tough to sort them out.

More from Alabama Crimson Tide

Honestly, with this conference, it has been tough to sort teams out all year. The power rankings consistently changed more drastically here than they did anywhere else. Only the ACC and Pac-12 came close.

And speaking of the ACC, what happened this past weekend, the 4-0 record the conference had against the SEC, only exposed how weak the SEC East can be. It has nothing to do with the West, which brought the conference up as a whole.

So now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, here are our SEC Power Rankings following Week 14 of the college football season.
