Toledo Rockets vs. Arkansas State Red Wolves

Saturday Blitz Vegas Bowl Prediction: Arkansas State Wins 45-38

This is the last bowl game of the year before the National Championship. And get ready for a high-scoring barn-burner…on the ground. Yes, these two teams love to run the ball a lot and still manage to put up lots of points while giving up a lot on defense. And on Jan. 4, that style of play will favor the Arkansas State Red Wolves over the Toledo Rockets. Despite being 7-5, Arkansas State has better wins than the 8-4 Toledo Rockets, most notably beating Utah State in overtime.

The Red Wolves have also shown that they can be physical at times on defense, evidenced by when they controlled Tennessee in the second half. Toledo, meanwhile, is a little bit softer on defense, and that is going to be enough for at least a one possession difference.

Although the MAC is tougher than the Sun Belt, the schedule for the two schools are pretty similar. And this is a gut pick that with a much more advanced offensive system, Arkansas State should be able to pull out the victory between these two mediocre teams.

But at least it should be an exciting final match-up to end the bowl season and get us prepared for the National Championship game.
