Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. No. 23 LSU Tigers

Line: LSU by 7

Saturday Blitz Vegas Bowl Prediction: LSU Wins 27-10

All due respect to the talent on Brian Kelly’s squad and his superb coaching abilities, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are clearly reeling right now, and the bottom fell out after the 49-14 loss to USC to end the season on a four-game losing streak. Meanwhile, LSU is a 10-2 or 11-1 team if it plays in any division other than the SEC West this year in college football, and they’ll show that under Head Coach Les Miles, who reaffirmed his commitment to the Tigers.

LSU’s Leonard Fournette has really emerged as a freshman superstar over the past few weeks, and expect for him to show up and dominate again in this bowl game. Notre Dame’s defense is clearly a serious issue right now, so picking the Tigers to only put up 27 points is honestly a bit modest.

Meanwhile, on defense, LSU is very deep, talented, and opportunistic, and Notre Dame can be extremely turnover prone. That’s not a good combination. Add to it the fact that the Irish are likely more disappointing about being in this bowl game than the Tigers are, and you have a recipe for an LSU blowout.

Miles’s team will cruise to a dominating victory as they help solidify just how tough the SEC West was this year.
