Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. No. 24 USC Trojans

Line: USC by 6.5

Saturday Blitz Vegas Bowl Prediction: USC Wins 45-21

This seems like a total lack of respect for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Honestly, Nebraska is the better team this year. But given the fact that this is a lame duck game for the Husker program after the firing of Bo Pelini with interim coach Barney Cotton leading the team and Mike Riley set to take over afterward, given that the team is completely separated on the direction of the program, and given that as Nebraska stumbles to the end of an era, USC is setting the stage for a new era, this game should be a blowout.

Steve Sarkisian’s Trojans are in the process of restoring themselves back to a powerhouse football program, and winning this bowl game would be a huge step in the process. Cody Kessler will play well, and Javorius Allen will torch the Huskers on the ground.

Ameer Abdullah could still be banged up for Nebraska, and Tommy Armstrong, Jr. might not be inclined to play hard in this game given his anger over the fact that Pelini was fired in the first place. So don’t expect much from the Nebraska offense either. All of these things will lead to a blowout.

Oh, and this game is being played in San Diego, which essentially makes this a home game for USC. The Trojans win easily.
